Welcome...
Welcome
to my peaceful place, as serene as the part of my back yard
under the towering spruce tree which reaches to the sky
like the spire of a cathedral. No matter what the
weather's like, it's calm here; no matter what else
is happening in the world, this is a refuge. Find
the joy, the wonderment of childhood, the affection of loved
ones here. Come sit with me a while and feel at peace.
My
husband and I share our lives with many children of a wild
nature. That's why we call them our Furkids. In the past we've
had energetic Zebra Finches, lovely Fantail Goldfish, spunky
Doggies and affectionate Kitties. We currently share our home
with nine cats, some of whom are foster cats. Here you'll
find pages devoted to some of our most memorable pets.
Have
a look around the yard as I transform it into gardens. I find
that assisting Mother Nature in achieving her potential is
deeply satisfying. The results are spectacular--as some of
my flower close-up photographs from years past will show.
We
bought our house in 1997, but in 2008 we suffered some serious
damage from sudden wind storms. We lost two of the three towering
Norway Spruce in our back yard, one of which was the tallest
tree in the city, visible above the canopy of all the rest
of the trees in town. While we mourn our loss, we encourage
nature to rewrite the landscape in our yard.
Roots
are very important too. You'll find photos of my family and
loved ones here. They have assisted me in achieving my own
potential. I honor them every day by being the best that I
can be.

I'd like to dedicate this site to
my mother, Jeane Butcher, who gave me my nickname early
in life, and who has become my best friend. She helps me
to remain grounded, to seek answers to life's questions,
and to find joy in the smallest details. Her capacity for
affection, honesty and humor always manages to amaze me.
She is a singular woman, with great curiosity for details
and an endless supply of support.
Thanks also to my husband, the most kind and gentle man
on the planet. His unconditional love humbles me and motivates
me to be my best for myself and him. He is my hero, my rock,
my friend...my lifemate, lovemate, soulmate.
