Grand Opening Set The pattern on the border to the left is called "Wandle," a rich design of dark browns, reds, greens, aqua, yellow, gray, and blue. Notice the attention to detail that reflects Morris's philosophy of design in keeping with the views of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Every inch of the canvas is used! No space is wasted. It is named after the River Wandle, a tributary of the Thames that meandered its way past the Morris & Co. workshops. Morris wanted to honor the steam with this design. The colors and overall pattern illustrate the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood's belief in the "fidelity to nature." How to Get the Graphics: To get any of the graphics in a set using Netscape, insert a disk into your A:/ drive (I always put them on a floppy disk). Then hold your mouse directly over an image and right-click to "Save Image As . . ." to the A:/ drive. To get the bordered background, hold your mouse on the yellow portion of the background and right-click to "Save Background As . . ." DO NOT get the graphics by means of "linking" to the LineOne server--that is called bandwidth theft and is a NO-NO. Do it correctly by right-clicking and saving to your disk. For more information about bandwidth theft go here. Linkware: After you have the graphics and put them on your web page, all I ask is that you provide a link back to Digital Crafts as a courtesy to me, the designer. You will find a logo toward the bottom of each page, like the one at the bottom of this page, or you can make a text link to Digital Crafts like the text link above in this paragraph.
