Ebony or:
Ebony Flame, Greyhound Ebs, Silly Boy, My Buddy, Chumly, Nimble Nose

Ebony was the largest of our pets. A retired racing greyhound, he was adopted by my husband at two years of age. He weighed in at an astounding 95 pounds much of the year--super industrial size for a male greyhound.

Ebony: 6/17/2000
I first met Ebony on his first day of adoption by my husband-to-be. You see, I was working as a housekeeper at an apartment complex where Dan had just moved in. Within a few weeks, Dan adopted Ebony, and I came to know the two of them with great interest.

He was a creature of infinite sensitivity, capable of displaying a range of emotions from humor to sadness. His eyes revealed the soul to whomever gazed into them. And his ability to speak without words continually amazed me. When he looked at me and sent his thoughts about what he wished, or how he felt, I could not help but be humbled by the intelligence and willingness of this precious creature to share his life with us.
