Fidget or:
My Baby, Precious, Mr. Whiskers, Boo Cat, Silly Boo, Snuggly Cat, Adoraboo, Super Scamper Cat, Feather Duster Tail, Purr Bucket, Scooter, Squirmy Worm.

Fidget is my Familiar. He adopted me, and gave himself his own name after residing with me for a week. That was thirteen years ago.

Sweetie!

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for cats, but this one is a most unusual feline. As a tiny kitten, he decided that I was his person. I think he found me deliberately, because others who had been trying to feed him or adopt him simply couldn't get close enough. He would scamper away from their grasp. When I approached him for the first time he went into a frenzy of play, exhausted himself, then curled up on my lap to purr himself to sleep.

It's a wonderous thing when a creature consents to place their lives in your hands. His loyalty to me is steadfast. His love is unconditional. I cannot help but be awestruck. Somehow I managed to deserve his company, and I will never, ever take that for granted. Now that he is a geriatric cat and in failing health, I would easily lay down my life to save his. If only it would help...
Silly Boo!

Riding The Shoulder Taxi!
August 7, 2002:  Fidget passed into the spirit realm today at the age of 14.  He had been battling illness for several years, and his frail little body finally gave out.  He was calm and peaceful, understanding and forgiving, affectionate and loving right to the end, just like always.  His absence has left us feeling empty, and yet we celebrate the freedom of his spirit.  We know that in the afterlife his health has been restored.  He was such an important presence in our lives for so long that we feel his joyful energy around us even now.  He will remain with us always, in our pleasant memories of his warm softness and steadfast loyalty.  His body was laid to rest below the towering trees in our back yard, among the ferns and flowers which speak to us of the sacredness of the spot.  We honor his memory in our daily lives by treating all living things with dignity and respect.
